Stephen D. Chiaino, Associate
Stephen D. Chiaino has been an associate of the firm since 2004 working in all areas of the firm’s cooperative and condominium practice as well as residential and commercial transactions. He handles all condominium sponsor sales and heads the firm’s transfer agent department for cooperative apartment transactions. He has written condominium offering plans for several of the firm’s developer clients as well as homeowners associations, easements and restrictive declarations and covenants. Admitted in 1996, he previously was an associate at a local law firm working in its banking and real estate department. He recently served as president of the 250 member Bay Ridge Lawyers Association and continues to head its annual continuing legal education seminar.
On behalf of the firm’s cooperative and condominium clients, Mr. Chiaino negotiates and drafts construction, renovation and alteration agreements, parking leases, storage room license agreements and by-law and proprietary lease amendments and agreements with major vendors.
Mr. Chiaino also handles estate probate and administration matters for the firm’s clients and represents clients in connection with the submission of beer, wine and liquor applications to the NYS Liquor Authority.
He has also lectured to the Brooklyn Bar Association on the topic of cooperative transactions.
